Gambling treatment program — standards and licensing

1. a. The department shall operate a gambling treatment program to provide programs which may include but are not limited to outpatient and follow-up treatment for persons affected by problem gambling, rehabilitation and residential treatment programs, information and referral services, crisis call access, education and preventive services, and financial management and credit counseling services. b. A person shall not maintain or conduct a gambling treatment program funded through the departmentunlessthe person has obtained a license forthe program from thedepartment. The department shall adopt rules to establish standards for the licensing and operation of gambling treatment programs under this section. The rules shall specify, but are not limited tospecifying, the qualifications for persons providing gambling treatmentservices, standards for the organization and administration of gambling treatment programs, and a mechanism tomonitor compliance with this section and the rules adopted under this section. §135.150,DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES — PUBLIC HEALTH 56 2. The department shall report annually to the general assembly’s standing committees on government oversight regarding the operation ofthe gambling treatment program.
