Purchases by school; purchasing agents

Sec. 8. (a) As used in this section, "board" refers to either of the following: (1) With respect to the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the board established by IC 20-21-3-1 . (2) With respect to the Indiana School for the Deaf, the board established by IC 20-22-3-1 .       (b) As used in this section, "school" refers to either of the following: (1) The Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired established by IC 20-21-2-1 . (2) The Indiana School for the Deaf established by IC 20-22-2-1 .       (c) As used in this section, "superintendent" refers to the chief executive officer of the school.       (d) Except as provided in subsection (f), the school is the purchasing agency for the school.       (e) Except as provided in subsection (f), the superintendent is the purchasing agent for the school for purchases with a value of not more than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000).       (f) The Indiana department of administration and the board shall develop and implement a written policy for purchases by the school with a value of more than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000).
