Sec. 4. (a) An assessor selected to evaluate an adult who may be a qualified adult shall: (1) conduct an appropriate psychological evaluation of the adult; (2) recommend whether the adult would likely benefit from participation in the referral program; and (3) explain, in detail, the reason for the recommendation. The evaluation, recommendation, and explanation shall be submitted to the court in writing, with the recommendation being submitted on a sheet separate from the evaluation and explanation. (b) The evaluation and explanation are confidential. The recommendation is a public record unless ordered sealed by the court. (c) The state may pay the costs of the assessment under subsection (a).
