Sec. 2. The objects of the society are: (1) the collection and preservation of all materials calculated to shed light on the natural, civil, and political history of Indiana; (2) the publication and circulation of historical documents; (3) the promotion of useful knowledge; and (4) the friendly and profitable intercourse of such citizens as are disposed to promote these ends.
