Sec. 49. (a) If a crematory authority is aware of a dispute concerning the release or disposition of cremated remains, the crematory authority shall release the remains to the funeral director or funeral home until the dispute has been resolved. (b) A crematory authority is not liable for refusing to release or dispose of cremated remains in accordance with this section.
