Indiana Code § 2-7-1-1.7

"Close relative"

Sec. 1.7. (a) "Close relative" refers to the following relatives of an individual: (1) The individual's parent. (2) The individual's spouse. (3) The individual's children.       (b) A relative by adoption, half-blood, marriage, or remarriage is considered as a relative of whole kinship.
