A civil proceeding may be maintained to adjudicate the parentage of a child. The proceeding is governed by the Code of Civil Procedure and Illinois Supreme Court Rules. Administrative proceedings adjudicating parentage shall be governed by Section 10-17.7 of the Illinois Public Aid Code.
