As used in Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children, the term "appropriate public authorities" means, with reference to this state, the Department of Human Services. The department shall receive and act with reference to notices required by said Article III. Repealed by 2024 Ga. Laws 425,§ 2, eff. upon enactment of the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children into law by the thirty-fifth state. Amended by 2009 Ga. Laws 102,§ 2-2, eff. 7/1/2009.
