(a) A person is guilty of vendor fraud in the fifth degree when he commits vendor fraud, as defined in section 53a-290 , and receives payment for goods or services fraudulently provided in excess of two hundred fifty dollars. (b) Vendor fraud in the fifth degree is a class B misdemeanor.
