The project for flood protection on the Eel River, in the Sandy Prairie region, is adopted and authorized substantially in accordance with the recommendations of the Chief of Engineers in House Document Numbered 80, 85th Congress, as authorized by act of Congress approved July 3, 1958 (Public Law 85-500, 72 Stat. 297, Title II, the âFlood Control Act of 1958â), at such estimated cost to the State as may be appropriated for state co-operation by the Legislature upon the recommendation and advice of the department.
