A manufacturer or processor may report to the State Geologist data on consumption or utilization of mineral materials. Those reports, if appropriately identified as confidential by the submitting entity, shall be maintained by the department as confidential. Publications issued as commodity or marketing studies pursuant to Section 2205 may contain figures from those reports, provided that these figures are presented so as not to disclose the consumption or utilization of minerals by any user.
