(a) âBenefitâ or âbenefits,â with respect to the Defined Benefit Program, means any monthly payment due a retired member, disabled member, or beneficiary, and includes lump-sum payments due on account of death. (b) âBenefitâ and âbenefits,â with respect to the Defined Benefit Supplement Program, means an amount equal to the balance of credits in a memberâs Defined Benefit Supplement account.
