(a) The title âlicensed marriage, family and child counselorâ or âmarriage, family and child counselorâ is hereby renamed âlicensed marriage and family therapistâ or âmarriage and family therapist,â respectively. Any reference in any statute or regulation to a âlicensed marriage, family and child counselorâ or âmarriage, family and child counselorâ shall be deemed a reference to a âlicensed marriage and family therapistâ or âmarriage and family therapist.â (b) Nothing in this section shall be construed to expand or constrict the scope of practice of a person licensed pursuant to this chapter. (c) This section shall become operative July 1, 1999.
