Authority to acquire properties

(a) The Board of Developmental Disabilities Services, established and existing pursuant to the provisions of § 20-48-401 et seq., is authorized to own, acquire, construct, reconstruct, extend, equip, improve, maintain, operate, lease, contract concerning, or otherwise deal in and with any lands, improvements, buildings, furniture, furnishings, machinery, and personal property of any and every nature whatever, sometimes called "properties", that can be used by the board for the accomplishment of, or in connection with the accomplishment of, any of the purposes and powers of the board and of the human development centers as specified by and set forth in § 20-48-401 et seq., or as specified by this subchapter or by any constitutional provision or act. (b) The properties may be located on or near the present operation of the Conway Human Development Center or at any other location in the State of Arkansas where the board shall undertake operations to discharge its purposes and powers.
