The Department of Health shall: (1) Administer the provisions of this chapter; (2) Enforce the rules promulgated by the State Board of Health for the administration and enforcement of this chapter; (3) Employ and prescribe the duties of employees as may be necessary to administer the provisions of this chapter; (4) Issue initial and renewal licenses to qualified applicants who provide perfusion services; and (5) Collect fees for licensure and accept public and private gifts, grants, and donations for the purpose of administering this chapter.
