The city council of any city adopting an ordinance in conformity with this subchapter is authorized to allow a per diem expense for each member at each meeting of the light and water commission herein provided. The per diem expense shall not exceed ten dollars ($10.00), and neither shall it exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) in any calendar month. Acts 1947, No. 106, § 3; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-3913.
