28-8132. Funding; improving transit services A. The department may make grants to governmental authorities provided in section 28-8131 for the purposes provided in this article and may cooperate with local authorities in improving existing transit services and in integrating these services to: 1. Better meet public transportation needs. 2. Promote a balanced regional transportation system. 3. Improve local or regional air quality. 4. Provide assistance in the planning, design and implementation of intermodal transportation projects, pedestrian related projects and bicycle related projects. B. Planning, coordination and actual operation of these services may be funded with general state revenues appropriated by the legislature for these purposes.
