City Clerk Duties

The city clerk shall be the secretary of the board. It shall be his or her duty to keep a full and complete record of all proceedings of the board; he or she shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him or her. The city clerk shall also be treasurer of the fund and the custodian of all money and securities belonging to the fund. He or she shall be liable on his or her official bond as city clerk for the faithful performance of the duties imposed upon him or her by this part and for an accounting of all money, securities, and things of value which may come into his or her hands as treasurer of the fund. He or she shall keep accounts which show the true condition of the fund at all times. Upon the expiration of the city clerk’s term of office, or whenever he or she ceases to hold office, he or she shall surrender and deliver up to his or her successor all bonds, securities, money, and everything else of value that he or she holds as treasurer or custodian of the fund. The city clerk shall not receive any additional compensation for services rendered under this part.
