(a) On or before April 1 of each year, the commission shall make in writing a complete and detailed report to the Governor and to the presiding officer of each house of the Legislature of its activity. (b) No member, consultant or officer of the commission shall receive any compensation for his or her services in acting in such capacity, but shall be paid his or her traveling and other necessary expenses incurred in attending the meetings of the commission and in the discharge of his or her duties as a member, consultant or officer, upon verified and itemized accounts approved by the chair of the commission, in accordance with the provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 7 of Title 36 of this code.
