(a) The supreme court may authorize, develop and implement an electronic transaction system via internet technology or similar medium for submittal of payment to the circuit courts of all fees, penalties and fines and bonds for misdemeanor offenses for which bond may be posted and forfeited. The supreme court shall ensure that any electronic transaction system implemented shall ensure compliance with W.S. 5-9-144, 5-9-146, 5-9-149 and any other applicable provisions of law. The supreme court shall further ensure that the adopted electronic transaction system provides for efficient, safe, secure and accurate transactions. (b) The supreme court may accept payment through the electronic system by credit card, direct withdrawal or any other negotiable instrument under W.S. 9-4-217(h). (c) Any fees assessed for processing a credit card payment shall be borne by the person tendering payment.
