(j) A fire protection district may be established under the procedures for petitioning, hearing and election of special districts, and subsequent elections shall be held, as set forth in the Special District Elections Act of 1994. (k) Notwithstanding subsection (j) of this section, a fire protection district may be established through division of an existing fire protection district pursuant to W.S. 35-9-213 through 35-9-215.
