When notice has been given to the attorney general under s. 879.03 (3) that a person domiciled in a foreign country, not represented by a consul, vice consul or consular agent, is interested in an estate, the attorney general shall appear for the person and be allowed compensation and necessary expenditures in the same manner as a guardian ad litem.
