Airborne Forces Memorial Bridge

(1) The department shall mark the bridge across the Wisconsin River on
USH 10 in the city of Stevens Point as the “Airborne Forces
Memorial Bridge” in recognition and appreciation of the military
service performed by members of the airborne forces of the U.S.
armed services, who served in time of war and in time of peace.
(2) The department shall erect a sign on each end of the
bridge to clearly identify to motorists the marking of the bridge
under this section. In cooperation with the applicable local municipalities, the department shall erect a permanent granite monument in close proximity to the bridge. The department shall design the permanent granite monument after consultation with the
badger state chapter of the 82nd airborne division association.
The department shall not expend more than $5,000 for the erection of the monument and the signs under this subsection.
