Prescriptions for and delivery of opioid antagonists

(1) In this section:
(a) “Administer” has the meaning given in s. 450.01 (1).
(b) “Deliver” has the meaning given in s. 450.01 (5).
(c) “Dispense” has the meaning given in s. 450.01 (7).
(d) “Opioid antagonist” has the meaning given in s. 450.01
(13v).

(e) “Opioid-related drug overdose” has the meaning given in
s. 256.40 (1) (d).
(f) “Standing order” has the meaning given in s. 450.01 (21p).
(2) (a) An advanced practice registered nurse who may issue
prescription orders under s. 441.09 (2) may do any of the
following:
(3) An advanced practice registered nurse who, acting in good
faith, prescribes or delivers an opioid antagonist in accordance
with sub. (2), or who, acting in good faith, otherwise lawfully
prescribes or dispenses an opioid antagonist, shall be immune
from criminal or civil liability and may not be subject to professional discipline under s. 441.07 for any outcomes resulting from
prescribing, delivering, or dispensing the opioid antagonist.
