Voluntary contributions; invasive species grants

(1) Any applicant for a fishing license under s. 29.563
(3) (a) to (c) may, in addition to paying any fee charged for the license, elect to make a voluntary contribution of at least $2 to be
used for research by the department concerning invasive species
that are aquatic species and for grants under s. 23.22 (2) (c) to
control invasive species that are aquatic species.

(1m) If a person appointed under s. 29.024 (6) (a) 2., 3., or 4.,
collects a voluntary contribution under sub. (1) from an applicant
for a fishing license, the person collecting the voluntary contribution may retain 50 cents of the voluntary contribution to compensate for the person’s services in collecting the voluntary
contribution.
(2) All moneys collected under sub. (1), less the amount retained as authorized under sub. (1m), shall be deposited into the
account under s. 20.370 (4) (ks).
