(1m) The department shall do all
of the following:
(a) Provide funding in each fiscal year to the Marquette University School of Dentistry for clinical education of Marquette
University School of Dentistry students through the provision of
dental services by the students and faculty of the Marquette University School of Dentistry in underserved areas and to underserved populations in the state, as determined by the department
in conjunction with the Marquette University School of Dentistry; to inmates of correctional centers in Milwaukee County;
and in clinics in the city of Milwaukee.
(b) Award in each fiscal year to qualified applicants grants totaling no less than $50,000 for fluoride varnish and other evidence-based oral health activities, $700,000 for school-based
preventive dental services, and $100,000 for school-based
restorative dental services.
(3) The department may provide funding to technical college
district boards to provide oral health services.
