Wisconsin Code § 24.145

State-owned swamplands; proceeds; disposition

(1) It is declared that none of the swamp and overflowed
lands granted to this state pursuant to an act of congress entitled
“An Act to enable the state of Arkansas and other states to reclaim
the swamp lands within their limits”, approved September 28,
1850, and the proceeds derived from the sale of those lands that
have not been actually applied for reclamation of those lands, are
necessary for the purpose of reclaiming any such swamp and
overflowed lands by construction of levees and drains or
otherwise.
(2) All swamp and overflowed lands described in sub. (1) and
the proceeds derived from the sale of those lands including those
placed and being in the drainage fund pursuant to chapter 537,
laws of 1865, that have not been actually applied for the purpose
of reclaiming those lands, shall be a part of the normal school
fund. This section controls over any inconsistent act or statute.
