The books of the institution shall be so kept as to clearly exhibit the time, state and condition
of the inmates, the number received and discharged, by what court and for what cause
committed, the length of the time of commitment of each person, the number of days' labor
performed by each convict, and the nature and value of such labor to such institution, and
the relative costs and expenses incurred by the institution in managing and etaking care of
each convict, and the number employed in each branch of industry carried on, and the
receipts from and expenditures for and on account of each departmentr of business.
