Use of slugs, false coins, etc., in coin-box telephone; penalty

Any person who shall operate, or cause to be operated, or attempt to operate any coin-box
telephone designed to receive lawful coin of the United States of America, in connection with
the use or enjoyment of any telephone service, by means of a slug or any false,
counterfeited, mutilated, sweated or foreign coin, or by any means, method, trick or device
whatsoever, not lawfully authorized by the owner, lessee or licensee of suche coin-box
telephone shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished
by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding twelve months, or by ra fine not exceeding
$500, or both at the discretion of the court.
