(a) Local government officials shall:
(1) Take the necessary corrective action recommended by the State Auditor or designee
pursuant to §6-9D-3 of this code to present financial records in an auditable condition.
(2) Complete any recommendations imposed by the State Auditor or designee pursuant to
§6-9D-7 of this code.
(3) Provide a financial recovery plan in accordance with §6-9D-7 of this code.
(4) Make reasonable proposals or otherwise take action to discontinue or correct the fiscal
practices or budgetary conditions that prompted the declaration of fiscal watch or fiscal
emergency. a
(5) Comply with the financial recovery plan instituted by a financial planning and supervision
committee created pursuant to §6-9D-11 of this code.
(b) If local government officials fail to adequately comply with the provision of this section,
the State Auditor or designee may institute appropriate recourse measures pursuant to the
rules authorized by §6-9D-11 of this code.
