The oaths required by section three of this article shall be taken after the person shall have
been elected or appointed to the office, and before the date of the beginning of the term, if a
regular term; but if to fill a vacancy, within ten days from the date of the election or
appointment, and in any event before entering into or discharging any of the duties of the
office. e
