Judicial notice of foreign laws

Whenever in any case it becomes material to ascertain what the law, statutory or other, of
another state or country, or of the United States, is, or was at any time, the court, judge, or
magistrate shall take judicial notice thereof, and may consult any printed book or other
document, purporting to contain, state or explain the same, and consider any testimony,
information or argument that is offered on the subject. e
