West Virginia Code § 56-4-9

Minors may sue by next friend or guardian; substitution of plaintiffs

Any minor entitled to sue may do so by his next friend or guardian. When the action or suit is
brought by his next friend, the court may, for good cause, substitute the guardian in lieu of
the next friend, or any other person as the next friend.
