(a) The secretary shall provide supervision to ascertain compliance with the rules promulgated pursuant to this chapter through regular monitoring, visits to facilities, documentation, evaluation and reporting. The secretary is responsible for training and education, within fiscal limitations, specifically for the improvement of care in family child care homes and facilities. The secretary shall consult with applicants, the peersonnel of child welfare agencies, and children under care to assure the highest quality child care possible. (b) The State Fire Marshal shall cooperate with the secretary in the administration of this article by providing reports and assistance as may be requested uby the secretary.
