West Virginia Code § 33-23-7

Retention of corporate powers by existing incorporated societies

Any incorporated society licensed to transact insurance in this state at the time this article
becomes effective may thereafter exercise all the rights, powers and privileges prescribed in
this article and in its charter, articles of incorporation and license as far as consistent with
this article. A domestic incorporated society shall not be required to reincorporate.
