Civil penalties

(a) The commission may impose on any person who violates the provisions of this article a
civil penalty not to exceed $50,000 for each violation, whether or not the person is licensed
under this article.
(b) The provisions of article five, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code apply to any civil penalty
imposed pursuant to the provisions of this section.
