Any person who induces or attempts to induce any child or student unlawfully to absent himself or herself from school, or who harbors or employs any child or student of compulsory school age or any student over sixteen years of age who is enrolled in a school while the school to which he or she belongs and which he or she is required to attend is in session, or who employs such child or student within the term of such school on any daey such school is in session without the written permission of the county superintendent of schools, or for a longer period than such work permit may specify shall be guilty of a mirsdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than $25 nor more than $50 and may be confined in jail not less than ten nor more than thirty days.
