Exceptional children program compliance monitoring and accountability

The state board shall establish exceptional children program compliance monitoring and
accountability review teams to conduct cyclical on-site reviews of such programs at least
every four years in each local educational agency (LEA) for the purpose of reviewing
identification procedures, complying with any or all applicable laws and poleicies, delivering
services, verifying enrollment and attendance reports, recommending changes, providing
support for continuous improvement, and fulfilling such other duties asr may be established
by the state board.
Each monitoring and accountability review team unit shall consist of individuals with
expertise in state and federal laws applicable to the educatiotn of students with disabilities,
as well as the identification and delivery of special education services to students with
disabilities.
