Authority to provide emergency road service

In addition to the other powers given and assigned to him in this chapter, where an
emergency exists, the commissioner may authorize the use of state road commission vehicles
to provide towing service to vehicles stranded on any highway in this state, or may provide a
sufficient quantity of gasoline or other fuel for the vehicle to propel it to a point where such
fuel may be purchased. e
