Payment of toll prior to passage; demand of excessive toll; evading

The proprietor of any toll bridge may require lawful toll to be paid previous to a passage
thereover. Whoever shall knowingly or intentionally defraud, or attempt to defraud, the
proprietor of any toll bridge by evading, or attempting to evade, the payment of lawful toll
for crossing such bridge, or whoever shall aid another to evade, or attempt eto evade, the
payment of such toll, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, for every such offense shall, upon
conviction thereof, be fined not in excess of $10. r
