Registration of marriages

(a) On or before the tenth day of each month, the county clerk of each county shall forward
to the state Registrar a report of all marriage records made by him or her during the
previous month, on a form prescribed or furnished by the state Registrar.
(b) The State Registrar shall preserve and index all records received under the provisions of
this section and shall upon request issue a certified copy of the records, which shall be prima
facie evidence of the facts stated in the certified copies in all courts in this state.
