West Virginia Code § 15-1F-9

General penalty; jurisdiction under article

A person convicted of a crime declared by this article to be a misdemeanor shall, unless
otherwise provided, be punished by a fine of not more than $500, or by imprisonment in the
county jail for not more than one year, or by both. Any circuit, intermediate, criminal court,
or justice of the peace shall have jurisdiction over offenses enumerated in this article.
