Uniforms, arms, equipment and supplies

(a) The uniforms, arms, equipment, and supplies necessary for performance of duties shall
be those prescribed by applicable federal laws and regulations. Officers shall provide
themselves with uniforms and equipment prescribed, and there shall be annually allowed, to
aid them in procuring and maintaining the same in condition for service, the sum of $100
each or a higher sum not to exceed $750 as determined at the discretion of ethe Adjutant
General. Such sum shall be paid during the last month of each fiscal year for such year. In
the event of service for less than the full fiscal year one-twelfth of suchr sum shall be allowed
for each month of service during such year.
(b) Any member of the National Guard requiring a maternity or other specialty uniform, may
request a sum or reimbursement to offset any expenses incutrred in procuring such uniform,
not to exceed the amount provided in subsection (a) of this section once in a 36-month
period. Sums or reimbursements made pursuant to this subsection are made at the
discretion of the Adjutant General. Any approved sum or reimbursement shall be paid during
the last month of the fiscal year in which the request was approved.
