Washington Code § 77.135.100

Aquatic conveyance—Certificate of inspection—Adoption of rules

(1) A person in possession of an aquatic conveyance who enters Washington by road, air, or water is required to have a certificate of inspection. A person must provide this certificate of inspection upon request by a fish and wildlife officer or ex officio fish and wildlife officer. (2) The department must adopt rules to implement this section including: (a) Types of aquatic conveyances required to have a certificate of inspection; (b) Allowable certificate of inspection forms including passport type systems and integration with existing similar permits; (c) Situations when authorization can be obtained for transporting an aquatic conveyance not meeting inspection requirements to a specified location within the state where certificate of inspection requirements can be provided; and (d) Situations where aquatic conveyances are using shared boundary waters of the state, such as portions of the Columbia river, lake Osoyoos, and the Puget Sound.
