Administration and disbursement of federal funds—Public assistance—Medical services programs

(1) The secretary of social and health services shall be the responsible state officer for the administration and disbursement of all funds, goods, commodities, and services, which may be received by the state in connection with programs of public assistance or services related directly or indirectly to assistance programs, and all other matters included in the federal social security act as amended, or any other federal act or as the same may be amended except as otherwise provided by law. (2) The director shall be the responsible state officer for the administration and disbursement of funds that the state receives in connection with the medical services programs established under chapter 74.09 RCW, including the state children's health insurance program, Titles XIX and XXI of the social security act of 1935, as amended, and programs established under chapter 71.05, 71.24, and 71.34 RCW that are under the director's authority. (3) The department and the authority, as appropriate, shall make such reports and render such accounting as may be required by federal law.
