(Effective January 1, 2025.) (1) The department must issue a department of corrections identification card to an incarcerated person in a correctional facility for identification and use while in that facility. (2) The department must also issue a department of corrections identification card under this section to any individual in community custody upon the individual's request and may require the individual to report to the closest correctional facility to facilitate completion of the request.
