(1) Data obtained under RCW 70.54.240 shall be used for statistical, scientific, medical research, and public health purposes only. (2) The department and its contractor shall ensure that access to data contained in the registry is consistent with federal law for the protection of human subjects and consistent with chapter 42.48 RCW.
