(1) Within existing resources, the Washington state apprenticeship and training council, in conjunction with individual state-approved apprenticeship training programs and the office of the superintendent of public instruction, shall lead and coordinate an educational outreach program for middle and secondary school students, parents, and educators about apprenticeship and career opportunities and communicate workforce projections to the office of the superintendent of public instruction for distribution to all local school districts. (2) Appropriate activities of the Washington state apprenticeship and training council under this section include assistance with curriculum development, the establishment of practical learning opportunities for students, and seeking the advice and participation of industry and labor interests.
