Constitutional officers shall not be required to provide a grievance procedure for their employees; however, such employees may be accepted in a local governing body's grievance procedure or personnel system if agreed to by the constitutional officer and the local governing body. 1995, cc. 770, 818, § 2.1-116.012; 1996, cc. 164, 869; 2001, c. 844.
