§ 1528. Collector of taxes When a town at its annual meeting elects a collector of taxes, he or she shall collect State, county, town, and town school district taxes. Warrants and rate bills for the collection of such taxes shall be directed to the collector, and he or she shall give his or her receipt therefor. He or she shall collect and pay over such taxes agreeably to his or her warrant.
